Under the bonnet is a 2-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 254bhp and 400Nm, with an additional 22bhp from the 48-volt mild-hybrid system. . It also has an overboost function that provides another 27bhp for around 30 seconds. The C-Class has always been a capable sedan with a comfortable ride and handling but to make it more suited on Indian roads, Mercedes-Benz India with Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India (MBRDI), have fine-tuned it. The springs and dampers have been optimised for Indian roads and the suspension is slightly raised to improve ground clearance.
