Dr Oded Haklai, Associate Professor and founding director of the Laboratory for Ethnic Conflict Research at Queen’s University, Canada. Haklia is the author of several books, including (in collaboration with Neophytos Loizides) Settlers in Contested Lands: Territorial Disputes and Ethnic Conflicts (Standford University Press, 2015), Democracy and Protracted Conflict: The Dilemmas of Israel’s Peacemaking (Syracuse University Press, 2014) and the 2012 Shapiro Award winner Palestinian Ethnonationalism in Israel (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2011).
Our Voice of the Fortnight is the first speech by Israel's new Prime Minister, Yair Lapid. He spoke of the 'common good' that unites all Israelis: 'a Jewish, democratic, liberal, strong, advanced, and prosperous Israel'.
