Alexis Chapelan is a current PhD candidate, enrolled in a joint international PhD programme at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France) and the University of Bucharest (Romania). He is mainly interested in exploring the intersection of intellectual history/history of ideas and sociolinguistics, applied to a broad array of research objects such as political extremism, far-right ideologies, hate speech, conspiracy theories and populism.
Matthias J. Becker is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Berlin Institute of Technology, research fellow in the Department of Communication at the University of Haifa and researcher at CENTRIC, Sheffield Hallam University. His research lies within the disciplines of linguistics and Internet studies and focuses on the construction of implicit hate speech.
