Dr Michael Milshtein is head of the Palestinian Studies Forum at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel-Aviv University, and a senior analyst at the Institute for Policy and Strategy at IDC Herzliya. He speaks with deputy editor Samuel Nurding about how the government intends to tackle the high rate of gang crime and violence in Arab communities. Michael also talks about the emerging split within the Arab political movement on how best to tackle the issue, as well as the political impact of Mansour Abbas’ decision to join the coalition. Michael formerly worked on Palestinian affairs to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), and headed the Department for Palestinians Affairs in the IDF Intelligence Unit.
