The deer ran off from the scene. Seeing the crash, a driver in a red compact car going westbound on the road moved to make a U-turn to try and render aid, a CHP sergeant said. As the driver was making the turn, he was struck by an SUV going eastbound. The force pushed the red car down a ditch and into a tree, killing the driver. The driver of the SUV was not injured, and the motorcyclist from the original crash was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
