Fathom Highlight: Towards a shared society / 20 April / 2015

This week’s Fathom Highlight features two voices from Israel’s Arab community. Lamis Shibli Ghadir writes about being an Arab social worker in the Ein Kerem Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem while Mohamed Darawshe explores the challenge of creating a genuinely shared society.  Fathom 10, out in June, will carry several pieces mapping the new dynamics of Arab politics and civil society in Israel.

Our Voice of the Week is Amos Oz’s speech to the 8th Annual  INSS Conference, where he warned about the threat of a bi-national state.

Our Image of the Week is of Women of the Wall on 20 April 2015. It marked the first time, since the group was founded 25 years ago, that they read from a full-size Torah scroll at the Western Wall. Photo by Miriam Alster/FLASH90.
